What is Nomi?

A credential platform, what it issues, and what it deliberately does not do.

Nomi issues and manages digital credentials for organisations: membership cards, employee and contractor badges, student IDs, loyalty and tier cards, event passes, benefit cards, and — through Nomi Academic — diplomas, certificates and badges.

They are all the same underlying object. A credential has fields, artwork, a state and a history; it is delivered onto one or more channels; and it can be verified by somebody who has no account and no key. An organisation that starts with one kind adds the next without building the integration twice.

What it does

• Creates — a template (or an achievement, in Academic) defines what a credential says, what it looks like and how long it lasts.
• Issues — to a subject, over the API, from the console, from a connector or from a policy that matches a rule.
• Delivers — as an Apple Wallet pass, a Google Wallet object, a link, a QR code or an email.
• Maintains — updating a credential marks the wallets holding it as stale and re-pushes it.
• Ends — suspend, resume, revoke or expire, with the copy on the device following.
• Proves — a public verification page and endpoint that answer without an account.

What it is not

• It is not a database of your people. Subjects are a projection of your records, keyed by your own externalId. Nothing is migrated.
• It is not an app your users install. A credential lands in the wallet already on their phone.
• It is not a pass designer with an API bolted on. The lifecycle after issuance is the product.
